Our group had the chance to meet with Josh Burke to discuss his time as an attorney working at General Mills, one of the leading cereal companies. Josh Burke worked for 20+ years as In-House Trademark Counsel at General Mills, and is now Senior Counsel at Pirkey Barber PLLC. Josh has extensive experience in all aspects of trademark practice, including licensing, searching and clearance, client counseling, M&A/due diligence, prosecution and enforcement. We spoke to Josh about cereal trademarks, and asked him about the importance of cereal branding and its influence on the public.

Alex Christian
Alex Christian is an attorney specializing in the Consumer-Packaged Foods industry. Her journey has taken her from Chicago to Des Moines, where she began her career in intellectual property law, before landing roles at General Mills and now at Post Consumer Brands as a Senior Counsel. Alongside her legal work, Alex is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, having been actively involved in employee resource groups at both General Mills and Post Consumer Brands, where she currently leads the PCB Pride group. Alex's commitment to mentorship and representation extends beyond the workplace, as she recognizes the importance of LGBTQ+ role models for younger generations. Alex lives in Minneapolis with her partner, Jasmine.
